After deducting the import duty, the government could boost vehicle market in Sri Lanka. This would help price deduction of Brand new vehicles and Used vehicle too.
Associated Motor Ways, an importer of Maruti, said that Maruti prices will come down below 800,00.
sources from Suziki confirm that they now sell the Maruti 800 for around Rs.790,000 compared to Rs. 1.3 Mn earlier. and also Alto 800cc which was sold at Rs. 17Mn in now priced around 1.3Mn. And indian manufactured suziki swift could be priced at 2.4 Mn. It was Rs. 3.1 Mn earlier.
The KIA Sorento (Diesel) jeep which was Rs. 14.8 Mn will now be sell at less than 10Mn including VAT.
Sources said recondition prices also become considerably less than earlier from mid of this week.
another sources said that a reconditioned Nissan vehicle which sold for around 2.3Mn would now be sold for around 2Mn
